Finally back home in Tucson! We left the big island at 8:50 Hawaii time on Saturday, arrived in California at 5:00 am CA time (3 hour time difference). We chilled at the grandparents' house for the afternoon and had dinner, then we drove to Blythe for the night. Now we're back home, ready to start the daily grind again. Poor dad had to head right out to work. He didn;t make it there though, because packrats chewed up a bunch of stuff in his engine, and his car is out of commission. So at least he got the day off to rest up from the trip.
These last two weeks have been amazing! It took me a little while to stop feeling sad about missing Forest Home, but I really appreciated the time I got to spend with my family. This will likely be the last time we all manage to get out and go on vacation as a family, so this trip was perfect for that.
Tomorrow is when my teacher training meetings are starting up, which is crazy to think about! But I'm excited to meet a lot of the people I'll be working with this next year.
